Well I don’t need to introduce Pokémon GO to most of you, but if you haven’t heard about it, I don’t know what to tell you… Where have you been!?
Pokémon GO is a free-to-play location-based augmented reality mobile game developed by Niantic and published by The Pokémon Company as part of the Pokémon franchise. It was released in July 2016 for iOS and Android devices.
When you begin playing, you’re given the opportunity to customise your character in the areas of physical attributes and clothing. The clothing style doesn’t really vary that much apart of the ability to change the colour of a specific item.
After having seen hilarious images of people dressing like Ash from the Game and TV Show series, I immediately thought about finding real life clothing that resembles your character on Pokémon GO. Without further ado, let me introduce you to the real life versions of your Pokemon Go character’s clothes!
As for all other items of clothing, we get three options. It’s inevitable that someone at some point will make hats with the Pokémon Logo, but at this moment, that doesn’t exist. All we can do for now is match style and colour as best as possible. Here is what I found:
It’s actually very difficult to find visors that aren’t either for golf or fancy dress! I managed to find one but then found two more traditional ‘Ash’ Caps by Vans and Patagonia!
This one was a little more difficult to find but I managed to find the following jackets that match as closely as I could find! Please understand, THIS IS HARD!
Finding trousers that resembled the ones seen in the game was a lot easier. Although some adjustments are to be made to create the Pokémon GO look. Below you’ll see 3 pairs of jogging bottoms as well as 3 pairs of right running leggings. Just roll your jogging bottoms up to the knee and you’re there!
There isn’t much to go on with the shoes apart from the coloured stripe down the side. Here’s what I found:
For the backpacks, I was forced to find real-life bags with similar colour schemes. You’re going to have to get a Pokémon symbol somewhere else online and stitch it on! Here is what I found:
If you’re looking to go all the way with this, you’re not just going to follow our guide. You’re going to do this down to the tiny details. This next part is for you! You’ll see that your character is wearing a plain white-t under his hoodie. It’s not the most difficult item to find online, but I’ve thrown it in there anyway.
You’ll also see that your character wears a black bracelet on his left wrist. I was able to find a bracelet that would resemble your character’s from afar. Finally, to stay true to the image of Ash, I’ve included fingerless gloves!
This was your one-stop-shop for all of Pokémon GO’s clothing! How have your styled your avatar? Share it with us on Facebook!
