James Bond has gotten a new assignment for Queen and country. Daniel Craig has been covertly filming scenes at Buckingham Palace for a special video for the 2012 London Olympics at The Queen’s invitation, London’s The Sun reported.

The clip, which is directed by Academy Award-winner Danny Boyle, will apparently end with Craig’s Bond parachuting into London’s Olympic Stadium, according to the report. It will be screened as part of the July 27 opening ceremonies as part of a big year for England that includes the 50th anniversary of the Bond film franchise and the Diamond Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth’s reign.

“They wanted the most iconic British film character inside the building most associated with London and with the monarch — and they got it,” a source told the Sun. Everything else about the shoot — code-named “The Arrival” — is shrouded in secrecy with personal cameras and cell phones banned on the set inside Buckingham Palace. The Queen herself would not comment on the rumors that Bond was back on Her Majesty’s Secret Service.
