How To Dress The Male Body Shape
Guys, it’s me again, still talking about body shapes, and how to properly dress them. I’m hoping we’re all on the same page now, because in this article, we’ll be taking a closer look at what sort of clothes best suit the male body type. Let’s flip the page and take a look at how to dress the three main body shapes for men: endomorph, mesomorph and ectomorph.
An endomorph body shape means that you have a solid and generally soft body. Gaining weight is easy, but losing it is hard, so be careful. Endomorphs have hips and shoulders and there is very little or no indentation at the waist. Embrace clothes that de-emphasize the top-heavy figure by wearing simple styles for shirts and jackets. Wear jackets with shoulder pads to create long slim-looking lines. Single color or tones of a single-color family are good; don’t wear contrasting bold colors; avoid trousers that are pleated in front, and when it comes to jackets, keep it double-breasted because this type of jacket distracts the eye away from the center of the torso. Finally, keep trousers trim but not tight.
Mesomorph guys, you basically have a large bone structure, large muscles and look athletic. Generally, your shoulders are wider than your hips and/or you may have a small waist. You should wear straight or wider leg trousers, and shirts and jackets that are wider at the shoulders but hug your waist; dark colors and tones will work for you; wear jackets that are hip or mid-thigh in length. Absolutely avoid baggy clothing!
If you’re an ectomorph, you’ll typically have small joints and lean muscles. Generally, you are tall (though not always), and your challenge is that you tend to look a bit thin so whatever clothing you wear should add bulk to your body. Obviously, you should avoid clothes that make you look even thinner. Instead, when it comes to suits, wear jackets with shoulders that are padded; this gives them that extra bulk that is needed, and also creates the illusion of broader shoulders and a fuller chest.
Try some of these simple tips. The results will surprise you!
