Loch Lomond to Loch Ness (A82)

This is one of the finest bike routes in Scotland and although it can be done in a day, it’s a picture-postcard journey that’s best enjoyed with occasional rest-stops to swipe the midges from your visor and an overnight break-in Inverness.

From the peaceful shores of Loch Lomond to the bonny shores of Loch Ness, the A82 offers a combination of flat straights, gentle and hairpin curves and the perfect amount of rise and fall right through the Trossachs National Park and out past Ben Nevis via the rugged Grampian mountain range.

Take the same route home or explore more of Scotland by returning on the A9 via Perth through the Cairngorms National Park.
