9. The Stelvio Pass, Italy

The 9045 feet Stelvio Pass is located in Italy and is the highest paved mountain route in the Eastern Alps ( and the second-highest in the Alps, coming only before the Col de l’Iseran at 9088 feet). From above, some roads look a lot more treacherous than they really are; with more hairpins than Beyoncé, the Stelvio Pass looks like a gigantic god made scribble across the hills. The road ascends almost two kilometres but whatever you do, don´t look down as you will see it’s only a low concrete barrier will prevent you from tipping right over the edge. Driving too fast here is not recommended due to the road featuring sixty 180 degree corners which are perilous even at low speeds of 40 Km/h.
