Egerton House – Boutique Hotel Knightsbridge

visitlondon.comThe Egerton House Hotel is a boutique five-star hotel in the heart of Knightsbridge, part of The Red Carnation Hotel Collection. The hotel is on a quiet street yet close to the Tube, Victoria & Albert Museum, Natural History and Science Museums, The Royal Albert Hall, Harrods, Kensington Palace, and other attractions. This elegant hotel with only 28 rooms is in a delightful part of London. It is very pet friendly as they do host afternoon events for you and your pet. I visited this hotel without a pet as do not have one.

When I walked in the Egerton House the staff were very helpful, even though it was very busy.

The Decor & Bar

This hotel offers the best when it comes to British interior. Everything was very clean and well organised. . I liked the clear balls on the stairways and the mirrors around the hotel. I am a big fan of fresh flowers so it was nice to see too, throughout the hotel. My favourite part was meeting Sahbi, the barman. The bar is one of the highlights of the hotel. It is cosy, very British and it had great martinis and a fabulous company when it came to Sabhi. There were some locals drinking here and they explained to me that they come here for two reasons, because of Sabhi and of course his martini’s

Classic Double

I stayed at the Classis Double room which was beautifully appointed with a comfortable bed. My Classic Double Room was a statement of individuality. The fine fabrics and bed lining were just stunning and I had plenty of pillows to choose from in different sizes and shapes. This is the best bed linen to date in all of my hotel reviews so far. The highest quality 200 thread-count Belgian linens were just stunning to feel and sleep in.

The imaginative furnishings and original works of art is what I adored about this place. It was just wonderful to just sit and take it all in. I was exhausted during this stay, so I certainly caught up on sleep. I liked how the tea was presented in a leather tea box, it just completed the British ambience and matched the room decor to a tee. Always good to see fresh fruit presented as a welcome treat alongside some lovely chocolates in a box.

There were so many hidden features within this room. I thought I would just include the list for those interested in booking a stay here.

Bathroom – Water Pressure

I am a big fan of traditional Victorian bathrooms. This has to be the fastest and highest of water pressure I have ever experienced in a hotel. Word of caution, the bath filled up in less than four minutes, so don’t even think about watching the TV. I liked the bath pillow that was given, it made a nice added touch to my very hot bath. Good to see a dedicated makeup mirror or on this occasion, a close up of how exhausted I was.

Conclusion

Throughout the hotel, there is so much to take in and explore. This is one of the finest hotels I have ever visited. It is intimate, superbly appointed, has a marvellous staff, and extremely comfortable accommodations. The staff could not have been more attentive, helpful and they were always cheerful.
