New York City – The Seven Top Places To Visit

It’s been over 15 years since I visited New York and to be honest I couldn’t remember much as it was a very quick visit. Due to the demand of our followers I thought it was time to visit the Big Apple and see what the city is trending and is famous for. Whilst staying at the Williamsburg Hotel in trendy Brooklyn I decided to venture out and explore this vibrant city.

Teaming up with NYCGo, team MenStyleFashion had ample of options to choose by regarding sightseeing New York. How it works is simple.

Visitors to New York City can find it overwhelming, but not if they’re using CityPASS tickets. The very best attractions are hand-picked and wrapped up in an easy to use package that’ll save you money and time, up to 42%. Because CityPASS tickets are valid for 9 consecutive days starting with the first day of use, there’s no need to feel rushed unless you have a short stay in New York. As my stay to NYC was 14 days I could see the city that never sleeps at my own pace, and truly enjoy the experience.

The Empire State Building

Located in the heart of NYC, the Empire State Building offers more than just 360-degree views. I had an option to visit it both day and night and highly recommend anyone to do so. For the simple reason the views are completely breathtaking. It is very well organised, I decided to go early to avoid the crowds which was a very smart move. Security is very tight here which made me feel extra safe. An unforgettable experience.

American Museum Of Natural History

Explore human cultures, the natural world, and the universe with a visit to one of the world’s most famous natural history museums! Meet the Titanosaur, one of the largest dinosaurs ever discovered, in the museum’s fossil halls. See world-renowned dioramas, the 94-foot-long blue whale, and the stunning Rose Center for Earth and Space, featuring an 87-foot-diameter sphere that appears to float inside a glass cube. Don’t miss the Hayden Planetarium Space Show Dark Universe or a spectacular digital 3D and 2D film in the giant-screen LeFrak Theater. Arrive early and make it a whole day experience, I had my children with me and what an education it was for them and me. My 3d movie experience was all about Dark matter and the universe.

The Metropolitan Museum of Art

Located in the very affluent area of New York. The Metropolitan Museum of Art is New York’s most visited museum and attraction, The Met presents over 5,000 years of art from every corner of the world for everyone to experience and enjoy. Take a whole day to explore this museum and it has an unbelievable amount of European art I have seen under one roof. I am referring to Picasso, Matisse, Monnet, Van Gogh, Rubbens and Rembrant van Rijn to name a few.

Guggenheim Museum

Walk with wonder through Frank Lloyd Wright’s masterpiece of modern architecture. The museum presents intriguing special exhibitions and is home to one of the world’s finest collections of 20th-century works by artists such as Kandinsky, Picasso and Cézanne. If nothing else the building itself stands alone and a must-visit. Even though it was snowing, this was a perfect time to explore the modern arts on display here at the moment.

Circle Line Sight Seeing Tour

This was my highlight of New York attractions, taking in the world’s premier skyline with up-close and magnificent views of the Statue of Liberty, Brooklyn Bridge, One World Trade and 101 NYC sights all from the newest fleet of boats on the water. Learn the legends and lore behind this great city from professional tour guides, these guys were unique and told many stories to keep me in engaged for my 3-hour tour. This included the rescue of the passengers from the plan that was landed by “Sully” in the Hudson River.

Intrepid Sea, Air And Space Museum

Once I got off the cruise I loved this museum which allowed me to explore the Museum’s collection of historical artefacts in an exhibit space spanning over 150,000 square feet. To get up-close look at the space shuttle Enterprise and 28 aircraft, including the world’s fastest military jet, was truly amazing. The Enter Growler is the only guided missile submarine open to the public. This was a brilliant way to understand how tough life can be deep down under the sea. I could also climb into a real Bell 47 helicopter and land a space shuttle in the Exploreum. They do really good food as well. This was our kids favourite attraction of New York City.

One World Observatory Ticket

This attraction is not part of CityPass. I prebooked tickets to skip the line, for the One World Observatory Ticket. One World Trade Center is the main building of the rebuilt World Trade Center complex in Lower Manhattan. Take the journey to the top of the tallest building in the Western Hemisphere and admire the incredible views over New York. For this reason, it is why I chose to stay here for hours. It happened to snow the day before so seeing New York looking white was beautiful. It is a must-do and nothing more to say than that it is worth every dollar.
