During Paris fashion Week I had the privilege of staying at Hotel De France Invalides. The location is absolutely fantastic and the view of the Invalides Golden Dome is jaw dropping both by day and especially by night. The Dôme des Invalides is a magnificent domed chapel. Its crypt a gold–domed building now used as a burial site for a number of the country’s war heroes. Just a stone throw away is the overpowering Eiffel Tower and Champs Elysees.
The two Metro locations, Ecole Militaire and St Francois Xavier are excellent and just a short walk away. From this hotel I would highly recommend that you take a walk, the local surroundings are gorgeous and by walking around you truly appreciate this beautiful city. Soak it up I would say.
Reception
The entrance is dark with a mystic ambience which I loved because the more you explored the hotel it was everything opposite to what I first expected. The moment I entered the staff were lovely and very welcoming. Their language skills were excellent and I felt I could ask for anything and they would go out of their way to accommodate.
Privilege Room
The room I stayed at was called the privilege room and rightly so. In entering the room, right there before me was a magnificent view of the Invalides Golden Dome. It was the perfect view to appreciate this spectacular city Paris. The location is very high end and the traffic noise was non-existent. It was just so therapeutic to sit with my wine, cheese and appreciate this historical building. The golden colour was overbearing in a gorgeous way. No matter what time of the night I just soaked up every moment of it. The decor consisted of wrought iron, wood and leather with bronze and silver effects, this gave the room a cosy and warm feel. The pillows were lovely and the room size was great. The mini bar is complimentary which is very unusual indeed. Hence this is the room I would encourage you to book when staying here. I felt this hotel captured the very essence of Paris and its history.
Breakfast
The variety was excellent and I have to say the croissants were amazing. I loved the boiled eggs every morning in, where you could cook it to your liking. You can also order the eggs to your liking. The breakfast room was very clean and the service was great. The decor was nice and the breakfast food enough options were enough to get the day started for visiting Paris.
Conclusion
For me the highlight of my stay were the staff themselves. They were so friendly and I noticed this also towards their other guests. It was a very cold week in Paris and the staff made sure I was well looked after. The hotel location is excellent and the area itself is amazing. This hotel is a must stay because it captures the very essence of Paris 2016. Thank you for making my stay a pleasant one.
