It’s the first time I am staying in St George’s bay in Malta. This is a very vibrant part and this is also where the night life action happens in Paceville. The atmosphere here is fun and there is a lot to take in regarding culture and tourist night life. The InterContinental Malta is literally a three minute walk from St George’s Bay. The hotel is big and has a long history in this island and that is why many people from around the world choose to return here. The staff have a lovely rapport with the guests and the atmosphere puts you right into the holiday mood. The hotel building is so big there are many areas with the hotel you can hide away from the hustle and bustle of the holiday atmosphere if you choose. Very soon their infinity pool will open up which has amazing views of the Mediterranean sea.
The Insider Collection
InterContinental Malta has 24 separate meeting rooms, providing a variety of capacities in various seating arrangements for a variety of events. Conference space totals 6,000sqm ranging in capacity from ten to 1,700 delegates. This is very unique and cutting edge for Malta in 2016.
The suites offer innovative luxury with an uninterrupted views between their indoor and outdoor environments. There is a lot of building work going on at the moment for European Captial of culture 2018. The hotel is so big that it does absorb the working environment and within this location it creates a new an innovative buzz illustrating how Malta is developing. The new suites are gorgeous and capture the very essence of design within 2016. The rooms come with kitchen facilities, and the room is spacious enough to be a perfect working environment. I loved the Spa bath with a view it is just amazing and very unique to Malta. When you book these suites your check in is exclusive and involves going onto the 15ht floor so there is no waiting around at the ground floor desk area. You’re treated as a very exclusive client and I highly recommend this.
Narcis Pool Bar & Grill
There are two pools one indoor and one outdoor which is great during the cooler seasons. But the outdoor pool is perfect to lounge around and be pampered by the staff. The grill bar is a nice touch for eating outside and drinking some prosecco. The gym is one of the biggest on the island and has a great atmosphere to it, right next to the gym is the indoor pool and spa options.
Club InterContinental Lounge
When you stay in the suites room you also get complimentary access to the Club Lounge. This lounge on the 15th floor has amazing views over Malta towards the sea. You come to this lounge for breakfast, afternoon tea, drinks and after 5pm there are canapes and more drinks, which they call pre-dinner. All the food on offer is all freshly prepared by the chef and only can be found specific in the Club Lounge. There are some very nice wines and cocktails too.
You can also choose to have breakfast here which is very personal and not so busy at all. It is the perfect way to start off your day. There are plenty of options to choose by.
Paranga Sea View Restaurant
The Paranga restaurant is part of the Intercontinental Malta hotel in St Julian’s and it is located 100 meters away from the hotel right on the beach of St Georges Bay. It is the perfect place to smell, see and hear the sea whilst eating amazing seafood. If you don’t like seafood there are also some good meat dishes available. You can read alot more about this restaurant here.
This staff and the facilities is why I would recommend this hotel. You can choose to hide away in the hotel and there is enough to do that. However at night if you want to go out and party then this is the perfect location to do so. Thank you for a great stay.
