Press In Action
For London Fashion Week, I thought I was running around like a headless chicken. I was not the only one. Sean Stillmaker ( he never sits still by the way) and Simbarashe of Lord Ashbury were literally running from me. Nothing new. For the most part anyone owning a camera or working for magazines I’m noticing, men’s fashion sense seems a low priority. Hence I was so excited to see these two. I noticed their sense of style and thought it was very valid for them to discuss male trends from a press perspective. More so I wanted to understand why anyone working for press seems to dress down? For their work they both highlighted that having breathable and comfortable clothes were high priority. I get that. Sean goes on to describe his work and fashion as follows.
Sean Stillmaker
As traditional delivery systems of journalism fade into the digital revolution, it’s immensely difficult to rise above the vastly saturated web of blogs and online publications. However, no matter how big and different a market is, quality work will always stand out. I approach my wardrobe in the same sense I do my work – sleek and professional, which has always elevated my position both in a crowd and amongst journalistic competition.”
Sean likes to blend in with the crowd. For his work he does not want to stand out. So when he is working he is not seen as intrusive. He steers for the color black and is a big fan of Calvin Klein. In his own words Sean has a method to his madness.
Simbarashe
Simbarashe however is a lover of color and we are loving him. The color yellow can be tricky but Simbarashe pulls it off with ease. He likes to take risks and is not afraid of standing out. YEAH!
