Turyaa Kalutara is a family hotel in where many groups book an all inclusive package. The hotel offers many facilities and activities for both adults and children. This hotel is all about sitting back and soaking up the Sri Lankan way of life. The security is tight and therefore gives out a clear message of feeling safe. On 2 landscaped hectares beside a beach along the Indian Ocean, this stylish hotel is a 7-minute walk from No 01 train station and 8 km from the storied Richmond Castle. Amenities include 4 international restaurants, a lively nightclub and a cafe. There are 2 outdoor pools and 2 poolside bars, as well as a spa, a library and a gym.
Kulutara is a town on a nice stretch of beach 40 kilometers south of Colombo and is an easy place to get to without having too travel far from the main airport.
With having two outdoor pools at the Turyaa Kalutara, the second pool is catered for children and families, and there are activities throughout the day, such as water aerobics and water polo. The gym instructor is fun and the perfect guy to get you burning off some of that excess energy.

Reception
The reception is inviting and massive. I like the fact that when entering, you can see the ocean immediately. There are two main pools and when entering the reception area, this is a pool catered for adults only and the depth of the pool is well suited for adults. There is nice access to the bar and this is the perfect place to chill without children running around.
Ocean Access
The ocean is easily accessible and a great area to have an early morning stroll, this time of the year it is a bit too rough for swimming. Throughout the day I noticed many guests walking onto the beach and strolling back for a nice refreshing dip in the pool. The beach was well maintained and very clean. The sunset over the beach was wonderful to watch from my very big balcony.
The Room
My room was clean, simple and nice. The polished, colourful room had free Wi-Fi, a flat-screen TV, a minibar, and tea and coffee making facilities. I liked the two bean bags which were useful for my children. The bed was simple and comfortable and I liked how I could just lye and overlook the amazing ocean view and hear the roaring sound of the ocean throughout the night. The extra lounges were nice to sit back on and catch up on some work. The working desk was big and perfect for me to catch up on some e-mails. The bathroom was functional and ticked all the boxes. The shower was very powerful which I really liked.
Food
The Turyaa Kalutara is a buffet hotel, that offered many types of food for both Western tastes and for people who are willing to eat local Sri Lankan cuisines. I had to leave very early so I did not have the chance to try the breakfast. Though I did have a butter cake the day before and that was lovely.
Conclusion
Turyaa Kalutara hotel is a place for the safe traveller, who is looking to get away from the ordinary pressures of life. It caters well for that all-inclusive traveller who is looking to just sit chill and take in each day as it comes.
