DaVinci Miqro – Vaporizers Reviewed

What does it have to offer that makes it a work of art compared to its predecessors and other portable vaporizers in the market?

What’s New with the Miqro?

The DaVinci Miqro is the fourth and most recent portable dry herb vaporizer released by DaVinci last 2018. Their first vaporizer was released 7 years ago, the OG DaVinci, which was followed by the DaVinci Ascent in 2013, the DaVinci IQ in 2016.

If you think the DaVinci IQ is small, wait till you see the DaVinci Miqro variety. Despite the smaller size, they feature almost the same materials for their built. The Miqro also features temperature adjustment options through smart paths or by adjusting with the buttons on the device.

Despite the similarities, there are still distinct differences between them. Even if they both feature a zirconia pearl inside the oven that helps reduce the size of the chamber, the pearl in the Miqro is firmer and more secure than its predecessor. DaVinci has also made the removal and replacing of battery and mouthpiece easier with the Miqro vaporizer.

Vapers who are on a tight budget but still want the most quality vapor possible can get satisfaction with the Miqro vaporizer, with the price at around $150 – $200 only.

Explorer vs. Standard Kit

The Miqro comes in two kits: the Explorer and Standard Kit. The Explorer version is priced at $200, while the Standard comes at $150.

The Standard Kit comes with:

  • DaVinci Miqro device
  • USB cable
  • Cleaning Kit
  • Extended mouthpiece

The Explorer’s Collection Kit comes with the same items together with these additional accessories:

  • Carry can (for holding your spare battery and extra herbs) and carry case
  • Extra 18350 battery
  • Grinder card
  • Glove

Both kits come with a flat and extended mouthpiece. If you want to maintain the sleek, discreet-friendly design of the device, go for the flat mouthpiece. However, you might get a burning sensation on your lips while vaping, and the vapor takes a little longer to cool down.

If you find comfort more than design important, the extended mouthpiece is for you. The air path is longer than the flat variety, so the vapor cools down faster. It’s easier to get dirty than the flat one though.

Design and Build

Imagine a smaller DaVinci IQ vaporizer and you’ll know how the Miqro version looks like. The sleek, small size, with a touch of the light grid on the front, makes it more pocket-friendly and fit for outdoor use.

The Miqro stands at about 3 inches tall and 3 inches wide and weighs around 104 grams only. But don’t let the small size fool you. In terms of build, it stands sturdy with anodized aluminum as its main material, making it suitable for both indoor and outdoor use.

At the side of the device, you can find three small buttons –  a power button, and the up and down buttons for adjusting the temperature.

Heating, Temperature Options, and Vapor Quality,

Speaking of temperature, the Miqro vaporizer also features smart pat technology for adjusting your vaping experience. Here are the temperature ranges for each smart path:

  • Smart Path 1 – 350 F to 370 F
  • Smart Path 2 – 370 F – 390 F (best option to get the most flavor)
  • Smart Path 3 – 390 F – 410 F
  • Smart Path 4 – 410 F – 430 F

It also has a boost mode if you want to raise the temperature to the highest setting, and a standby mode to cool down the device and save the battery life.

In terms of heating, the heat-up time for the Miqro vaporizer usually takes 40-50 seconds. Although it’s an average heat-up time for portable vaporizers, there are newer versions today like the PAX 3 that only takes 20-30 seconds to heat up.

Cleaning and Maintenance

The Miqro vaporizer comes with a number of small pieces needed to be clean every time after use (for optimal experience). But the good news is, due to its small size, cleaning the device won’t be much hassle. The parts are removable too, so you can clean them separately.

Downside

There are only four minor downsides associated with the Miqro vaporizer. First, it has a low-life battery. If you purchase the Standard version, you can only enjoy 30 minutes in total of a vape session. And even with the extra battery from the Explorer’s kit, the longest you can enjoy the device is around 60 minutes.

It’s quite lower than its competition in the market, but with the price and size of this vaporizer, it’s not that bad. To maximize its use, it’s advisable to invest in an external charger and at least two more pairs of batteries, especially for outdoor use.

The device also gets hot when used for a longer time. However, the Explorer’s Collection Kit comes with a glove you can use to avoid burning your hands while using the device.

Unlike the IQ vaporizer, it’s not compatible with Bluetooth, so there’s no app you can use to adjust the temperature or tailor it for a more customized experience. Still, you can make the temperature adjustments with its smart paths or the up-and-down button on the device.

It’s made for dry herbs only, so if you want to vape concentrates or other materials in one vaporizer, the Miqro may not be for you.

Final Thoughts

If you’re looking for a budget-friendly portable vaporizer to get your quick vape fix while outdoors, the DaVinci Miqro is worth checking out. With the short life span of the battery, it’s more suited for quick vaping sessions while you’re outside, like taking a brisk walk in the morning or going on a night out with friends.
