Harvey Nichols
At Harvey Nichols this week we were delighted to be part of another fundraising event organised by Harvey Nichols for the charity organisation called Wellchild. £25,000 was raised on the night. There were collections on the catwalks both for women and men. But as you know Gracie is always running for the men. Don’t panic we have fabulous shots of the women and they can be seen on GracieOpulanza.com. The men’s collection was a real hit. The clothing was from varies top designers and we loved every bit of it. Most of the collections were very street-friendly and one that you can purchase now. Over the course of my men style fashion journey, I’ve had to be very innovative in how to grow a brand form nothing. So for me each time I watch catwalks for men I get a little tad annoyed. This is WHY?
The Models
For me I’ve always thought the catwalk for men should be a lot more fun, engaging and somewhat wanting the models to interact with the audience. I would even go as far as asking models out there to even dance their collection or maybe even rap it. WHY NOT? Lets face it the clothes are there to admire. But are we really checking out the clothing collection? Different looking men are for different looking women. So here is my take on the three models.
Redefining – The Catwalk For Men 2013
Lloyd – certainly Knew how to engage with the camera and Maria. It was a love affair in fashion making. The photo’s tell the story. He smiled he worked it he turned the catwalk into a sexy photoshoot. Every single image Maria took made her editing work a whole lot more interesting.
Dallas – as gorgeous as you are he was very professional and reserved. He just got on with it and wore the collections well. It was only at the end and you can tell by the photo he too was warming up to the idea that the ladies were wanting him and that body.
Davey – from the moment he got out there he knew his target, He knew that the event were women meaning business. Boy did he work those women. He engaged with the ladies, skipped the dance floor. He owned those clothes as if they were made for him. He was a very friendly engaging model. Davey just made all the women in business love him. We had the pleasure of having Jo Malone with us. One of her tips for business success was to be innovative. Well, Davey certainly was that.
Welcome to catwalks for men and sort it out. Just think Men and Style in an innovative way to present Fashion on catwalks. I’m excited, as Gracie has an idea.
