When the 76ers signed Tobias Harris and Al Horford last season, the addition with superstars Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons gave fans the hype that this team could compete for an NBA title. However, this team let everyone down with a first-round exit in the 2020 NBA playoffs. Letting fans down is not something new for this team. The 76ers haven’t won an NBA title since 1983, and haven’t made an appearance in the Eastern Conference Finals or won an Atlantic Division title since 2001. Things could change after the team hired Doc Rivers to be the next coach, so we will have to wait and see.

The Flyers own the longest title drought in the city. The Flyers have not won a Stanley Cup since 1975 and haven’t won a division title since 2011. When you don’t consistently win, you lose attention. In a market where there is football, baseball, and basketball, the Flyers are likely taking a seat in terms of gaining attention. The team has won just one appearance in the conference finals since 1995. Until the Flyers start competing regularly, expect the team to live in everyone else’s shadow.
