When I stayed in Venice I had a rest at the new refurbished Ego Boutique Hotel and in talking to Ekaterina Tchakarova, who lived in Vicenza, I was intrigued to visit this town. Ekaterina told me about the elegant buildings designed by the 16th-century architect Andrea Palladio. Vicenza is located in the Veneto region of northeast Italy and only 45-minute train ride from Venice. The city centre is literally a 10-minute walk from the train station.
You won’t be disappointed the moment you walk into the walls. Vicenza has a lot to offer for visitors
It’s known for other remarkable buildings such as the Palladian Basilica and the Palazzo Chiericati, now home to an art gallery. Nearby, also by Palladio, the Teatro Olimpico replicates a classic outdoor theatre, indoors.
Food And Shopping
There are plenty of places to eat and the boutiques are beautiful in design and offer a variety of local designers too. The shopping experience here is lovely. Vicenza is also famous for its atelier in jewellery design. Once a year they have a trading week where buyers and sellers flock to Vicenza for gold, diamonds, gems stones, and silver. If you are looking for something different this is the place to buy jewellery.
Residenza Vescovado Vicenza
With a view of the stunning Duomo and located in the most elegant area of the centre, Residenza Vescovado offers a luxury stay in a historic home. It is the starting point to discover the charm of Vicenza Palladian city. Vicenza Cathedral is a Roman Catholic cathedral and it is the seat of the Bishop of Vicenza.
Residenza Vescovado has self-serviced apartments. Each apartment has a self-contained kitchen with excellent facilities to allow you to dine in. These newly refurbished apartments are designed in a contemporary style. Each apartment has its own personality in which parts of the original decor are preserved to give them character.
Ekaterina Tchakarova, the founder, wanted to create exclusive environments with each apartment different from each other. Therefore creating a unique, welcome to each person with affection and kindness.

Bedroom
I loved the colour palette chosen in the bedroom combined with the Italian bed linen. I had a very restful sleep here. All the furniture is from the luxury brand called La Fablier. There is a large leather red sofa for an extra guest to sleep in.
I loved the Murano glass chandeliers throughout the apartment, it reminded me that I am in Italy and its love for atelier and design.
Bathroom
I am a big fan of natural stone sinks. Combined with Bisazza mosaic tiles made this a beautiful modern bathroom to experience. The water pressure was powerful and the crystal shower cabin was large.
Conclusion
When in Vicenza there is so much to explore. There were so many Palazzos and cathedrals to walk into and each one was very different in opulence. The location of Residenza Vescovado Vicenza meant I could pop in and out of the apartment when I needed too. The main entrance to each apartment is lovely with plenty of Italian art to admire. Thanks for a wonderful stay.
