Stratford-Upon-Avon – The Arden Hotel Reviewed

Stratford-upon-Avon is the birthplace of William Shakespeare and it is a pretty village to visit. When staying in this village I would recommend The Arden Hotel which is directly opposite the world-renowned Royal Shakespeare Company Theatre. The location is perfect to stroll around Stratford-upon-Avon and then return for a nice rest.

The Arden Hotel is an elegant and sophisticated 45 bedroom boutique hotel. The parking is accessible and very safe. This luxurious hotel interior design is cosy and very welcoming. The small size makes the hotel fees intimate. The sunny garden is bliss after a day exploring Shakespeare’s life and his school. The school is well worth visiting and exploring. Make sure you take the private tour it is very educational.

Stratford-upon-Avon, a medieval market town in England’s West Midlands, is the 16th-century birthplace of William Shakespeare. Possibly the most famous writer in the English language, Shakespeare is known for his sonnets and plays such as ‘Romeo and Juliet’ and ‘Hamlet’. The Royal Shakespeare Company performs his plays in the Royal Shakespeare Theatre and adjacent Swan Theatre on the banks of the River Avon.

Feature Room

The Feature rooms at The Arden Hotel are the largest and most luxurious rooms. There was plenty of space to relax and unwind in my room. I had a day from hell, I had got locked out of my car and had 6-hours to wait before keys were given to me. Just, before then I just drove from Bruges back to the UK. It was a huge long exhausting day.

So the super king-sized beds were an indulgent treat. The fluffy pillows and linen felt lovely. To pour a flute with my favorite ESPA toiletries and sink into a deep bubble bath was what I needed. The towels were fluffy and large which I like.

This 30 sqm room was lovely to just chill, eat some fruit and try and digest the day. I slept so well and enjoyed the quiet stillness of this famous town. The windows were lovely to look out in the morning.

No.44 Brasserie on the Waterside

Sadly I actually arrived around 10 pm and was so exhausted. But a huge thank you to the chef who waited for me and cooked a meal. This is why The Arden Hotel is special, they didn’t have to do this.

The food was delicious and fresh and the staff was ever so kind. The extra glass of wine certainly relaxed me. The staff were so attentive even regarding taking me back to my room as I was so tired. The cup of tea was perfect for more chilling moments.

Breakfast

This was one of the best UK breakfasts I have had for the whole year. The variety of healthy options was welcoming. The ambiance and staff were very attentive. I liked the large windows opening onto the balcony which was lovely. The weather was sunny and so being able to sit sipping my morning coffee watching the public strolling by was a nice way to wake up. I was fueled by breakfasts of avocado, eggs, nuts, fruits, and homemade bread.

Fresh fruit juice on hand and plenty of cold meats, and fresh pastries too. The choices were endless.
