It is my first time visiting this part of Gloucestershire. This has to be my favorite part of the Cotswolds, in the well preserved unique picturesque village called, Chipping Campden. I just adored strolling around this village soaking up the history and the views. I also had one of the best carrot cakes to date I have eaten in the UK for 2019.
This village is famous for staying over and for hiking around the area. The character and history of a Cotswold stone building is part of its charm too. During my stay at The Kings Hotel I was taken by its charming 18th-century townhouse. The interior design and ambiance was very cosy and welcoming. There is a fantastic and motivated team of people working in all areas of the hotel and they certainly went out the extra mile to make sure my stay was a relaxing one.

I can say that my stay here was a brilliant and fun experience. I noticed that everyone enjoyed coming to work here went the extra mile for outside guests as well. Here at The Kings Hotel, the staff are doing the best possible job for the guests and for the company.
Parking And Hiking
During my stay, there were plenty of international visitors choosing to rest here after a hard day of hiking. Parking your car can be tricky here but there is a dedicated car park for hotel guests only which is reassuring to know.

Chipping Campden, is about self-adventure, and there is so many walking adventures here, there is just not enough time to do it all, in one weekend.
Cottage Feature Suite
Located in the Cottage, is the Feature Suite which includes a king-size bed with comfortable linen, fluffy pillows with a nice regal purple fabric decor. The spacious Feature Suite had a fantastic inviting in-room bath facing the window. The views were lovely from the suite were lovely. It felt like an indoor picnic for me, just me, my wine, the bath and the birds.
The en-suite wet room style shower room is the most unusual shower room I have ever seen. The feature standing in my shower room reminded me of David a statue by Michelangelo, begun in 1501 and completed in 1504. The shower had several shower heads which were very powerful and therapeutic for my aching back.
The suite comes with a working desk and large TV, it allowed me to eat, relax and work.
Jackrabbit Restaurant
The Jackrabbit Restaurant looked amazing with its golden stone, beamed ceilings, and a huge candles. I loved the huge strewn open fireplace which in winter would set the scene for an evening of cosy dining. What I loved was the abundant use of antique furniture, it gave the restaurant a niche feel.
My favourite sitting area was in the window bay.
I encountered culinary delights such as roasted steak, delicious pate, fresh figs, homemade bread, and yummy desserts. The food was excellent in presentation and the ambiance was superb.
The Jackrabbit Restaurant currently holds 3 AA Rosettes for its high standards of service and the quality of niche local grown and used ingredients and dishes. The food and restaurant is the heart and soul of this hotel. When staying here make sure to eat here.
The Bar
The hotel bar overlooking the Square is the place that both guests and outside visitors from Campden come to. The cocktails served here were delicious, this is an ideal place for relaxed drinks and lots of fun to meet up with family and friends. Food on demand is also available.
Breakfast
The breakfast is in the Jackrabbit restaurant and the daylight ambiance is a perfect way to wake up and start a hiking day. The food was fresh, well presented and tasted delicious. Breakfast had a healthy variety of options to choose by.
Conclusion
A big thank you to the staff for going the extra mile and making feel very welcome. Chipping Campden is a stunning village to stay in for a weekend. The area is brilliant for long and short walks and the King Hotel is the right place to relax, chill and celebrate life. For those that have bigger plans there is plenty of space for birthdays or weddings.
