Streetwear Inspired Airport Outfits

For many, their holiday starts the moment they set off for the airport – as soon as you set foot out of the door it’s party time, so you’ll be wanting to nail that airport outfit to make sure you’ve got that effortlessly chic vibe that only the most high-fashion celebrities seem to be able to pull off. Whilst these outfits might look completely nonchalant, they never really are; they’ve been curated with care to provide a stylish look whilst keeping you comfy for the long day ahead. There’s no telling what kind of stress, delays, and inconveniences you might face, but at least you won’t be sat there in an outfit that will leave you cold and uncomfortable if you put time into finding the right airport fit! Check out some of our favourite men’s streetwear-inspired airport styles below!

Athleisure

This is certainly the most obvious style to focus on if you want to bring streetwear to the airport fashion scene; athleisure is a fundamental theme within the streetwear trend and it’s insanely comfortable too, so it’s a real win-win for everyone! If you want to, you could easily get away with joggers as part of your athleisure-inspired airport outfit – Adidas 3-stripe joggers are a timeless classic that’ll never go out of style, or for something with more of a retro edge, check out some of the Kappa popper track pants that have been resurfacing as of late! They look great with a tee or a hoodie on colder days, making them a versatile retro piece to add to your wardrobe.!

Preppy

If you want to go for a look that’s a little more sophisticated, then the preppy look is perfectly suited to you. You’ve seen it before – the classic polo shirt and chinos combo, a pair of boat shoes, topped off with a jumper draped over the shoulders – it’s a classic look, but it’s a little overplayed. With that being said, you can, however, bring this look back into the modern age by making a few subtle changes. Swap out the boat shoes for box-fresh white trainers, maybe switch up the polo for a simple striped ringer tee, then top the look off with some iconic tortoiseshell wayfarer sunglasses and you’ll be onto a winner.

This is a great look for business trips where you won’t have time to drop off bags beforehand – you’re in a ready-made business-casual fit the moment you step off the plane! You could even take a blazer and a pair of dress shoes in your carry on bag to further class up your outfit if you feel like you need to in an instant; it’s so easy to be prepared for every situation with the preppy look.

Rockstar

Because not everybody wants to stay in incognito mode. The rockstar looks is usually reserved for your Beckham’s, Gosling’s, Depp’s and Pitt’s, but with a little bit of thought, you can have passers-by breaking their necks trying to catch a glimpse of that guy they’re sure they recognise from somewhere. In this look, there’s one thing that just can’t be missed out – the leather jacket. Skinny jeans, Chelsea boots and a tee are great for finishing this celebrity-style outfit – shades are preferred, but not essential.

Whilst you might not have the dashing good looks of Ryan Gosling or Leo DiCaprio, you can still dress like a world-famous celebrity – who knows, you might even have some paparazzi accidentally snapping your picture for fashion magazines if you really smash the look!

Airport outfits are one of the biggest fashion trends at the moment, so it’s either jump on board or risk being the least stylish guy on the flight. Whether you’re queueing at Starbucks for your triple, venti, half-sweet, non-fat, caramel macchiato to keep you awake for your 5 a.m. flight or a Martini (shaken, not stirred – duh) to prepare you for a long haul business flight between London and New York, do it in style with the right airport outfit!
