Belle Époque

Belle Époque is French and means ‘beautiful era’. The term refers to a period that began in the late 19th century and lasted until World War I (1890-1914). The epi-centre of the Belle Époque was Paris, where haute couture was invented at the time and the concept of fashion began to move in yearly cycles.
