Louis Smith - London Collections Men 2014

LC:M kicked off and the images below are what men are embracing for 2014. But there was one particular look I noticed. This look, spotted outside the LC:M Event last week, truly sticks to my own sense of style. I deem that being able to use and match a narrow palette of colours is the key of good taste when it comes to menswear. Black, grey, blue, brown and military green should be considered as the basic shades of a man’s wardrobe.

What Colours should you have In Your Wardrobe?

This guy, who is even sporting the perfect hairstyle: trim and classy, is wearing very simple garments but the way he matched them makes this outfit a truly on point.

The brown zipped biker suede boots, instead of the classic black leather ones, are a very good start for standing out the crowd; then, a pair of slightly rolled up slim fit dark blue jeans are essential for winter season, not to mention how blue and brown thoroughly match each other; finally, the grey coat is the icing on the cake.

I pay a lot of attention to the fit of the garments I wear and I particularly enjoy it when a coat fits you as a tailor made jacket, not too squared and loose, not too long (the full-length of a coat should never be longer than your mid-thigh, as in this case), arm length should be few cm shorter than your wrist, so the cuff of your shirt, or sweater, stay visible.
